Vienna Christmas Market at Rathausplatz

Description: The market in front of the town hall is one of the largest and best known. Beautiful decorations, the smell of mulled wine and festive lights create a magical atmosphere.

In the 1800s, it was a gypsum mine, but an explosion caused the mine to flood and a lake formed.
During the Second World War, the Nazi regime operated a secret aircraft parts factory here.
